I am going to make something perfectly clear from the get-go on this post. This post is neutral on the topic of transgendered individuals and transgender rights.

This journal is NOT a springboard for you to talk about your support or opposition of Transgendered individuals. Anyone who comes down on me with lectures about how hard it is being TG or or hating them do so at their own recognizance.

That being said, let’s roll on.

This is a completely horrible move for reasons strictly financial and common-sensical. The Affordable Health Care Act was meant to pool money in much the same way health insurance does in order to help those with emergency needs afford life-saving health care.

(Granted, that’s the fool's label laid on it and the truth of the AHCA is nothing but pork barrel spending and just one more layer of control imposed upon America, but I digress…)

It doesn’t matter if ObamaCare is what it says it is or not. This is essentially drawing money from the FINITE pool… money that could be used for life-saving surgeries and long-term treatments… for gender reassignment surgery.

This isn't a case of 'If it wasn't spend on TG surgery, it would be spend on something else!'

No. There is a limited, finite pool each year that requires a Death Pan-AHEM-Discretionary Healthcare Evaluation Board to decide where the care is dispensed.

Thanks to this, we now live in a society where a man will die so that another man can have what equates to a luxury. And by luxury, I mean something that an individual would like to have but does not require for survival.

You know that this would not be put in there if it hadn’t been asked for, so that means that the TG lobby decided that their own non-emergency, non-life threatening needs were MORE important than the needs of people that require emergency surgery and long-term medical care.

There are few things I can think of in recent times that strikes me as wicked and ego-maniacally selfish as that.

Shame on you, TG lobby.

If what you want is worth undergoing a surgical procedure in order to attain it, it's worth paying for it your own selves.

Do not force others into paying for it for you.

Especially when those funds could have otherwise saved lives, you self-entitled leeches.


**UPDATE/NOTE**

I need to make something clear here. Unless proven it's a mental disorder, I am neutral on the topic of transgenderism. Personally, I do not like it, but as it does not affect me, I don't really care what people do to themselves when they're of sound mind on the matter. This journal however, is not a discussion about Transgenderism or Universal Healthcare. It's about ethics and morals.

Would not, under these same principles, hardcore furries make an argument that the government *must* subsidize fursuit purchases or animalistic body modification surgery in order to 'feel more like how they ought to be'?

It doesn't sound so nice and fluffy when phrased that way, does it? But it's the same principle.

Government subsidies of non-essentials, ESPECIALLY  from a pool meant for life-saving funds, is ethically and morally wrong.
